In John Chapter 18, when he was questioned by Pilate, Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place." "You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me." "What is truth?" Pilate asked.
That is a key question throughout human history: what is truth? It's not always obvious; in fact it is sometimes contrary to our senses or currently accepted wisdom. For example, the world was considered to be flat in ancient times, but we now know it is a sphere. Believe it or not, there is a group of people (The Flat Earth Society) who still think the earth is flat. One of their members said the following about satellite photos showing that the earth is round: "It's easy to see how a photograph like that could fool the untrained eye." Does their refusal to accept the truth make it any less true? In a more general sense, if something is true, does it matter what anyone thinks about it? Love it, hate it, disagree with it, don't care; none of these matter because it's still the truth.
In today's world, where so many put all their faith in imperfect human wisdom, there are some who see the Bible as irrelevant. They think it's hogwash, fairy tales, etc., and they are 100% sure they couldn't possibly be wrong. There's just one problem with this: a careful & logical examination of the Bible reveals that it is true. Being 100% sure of something doesn't matter if you're wrong. The Flat Earth Society is 100% sure the earth is flat - that doesn't make the earth any less round. Even if 99.9% of the world is fully convinced the Bible is nonsense, what does that matter? The Bible still speaks the truth, now and forever. As Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." (Matthew 24:35)
